Position Description - CLINICIAN (Bilingual)


The clinician provides individual, group, and family therapy for the Unaccompanied Children (UC), conducts assessments and works in collaboration with multidisciplinary treatment teams to develop treatment plans and conduct utilization reviews.

The Clinician is primarily responsible for the therapeutic needs and continuum of clinical care for the UC in accordance with Agency policies and procedures, licensing standards, and federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.


Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the treatment caseload of approximately 812 male UCs between the ages of 1217 years old who reside in the shelter.
  • Complete intake assessments and UAC assessments accordingly and on time.
  • Complete Risk Assessments to identify immediate needs and risks upon admission to the shelter
  • Provide weekly individual and family therapy
  • Complete Individual Crisis Management Plans, Behavioral Plans, Discharge, and Safety Plans as needed
  • Provide crisis management and ongoing therapeutic support.
  • Utilize screening tools to evaluate symptoms related to mental health
  • Conduct family sessions to assess, build and/or confirm previous relationships between the minor, the family in their home country, and sponsors in the U.S.
  • Develop and facilitate weekly group therapies and psychoeducation on a community, clinical, and acculturation nature on weekly basis.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and other meetings about the needs of the youth in the assigned caseload.
  • Staff complex cases with appropriate parties including Case Coordinator, Federal Field Specialist, Lead members, and assistant director.
  • Collaborate with release recommendations based on evaluations related to the history of abuse, trafficking, and medical/mental needs.
  • Maintain regular communication and coordination of services with other professionals within the agency and thirdparty entities.
  • Participate in weekly meetings to address improvements, changes, or updates in policies and procedures.
  • Complete paperwork on time, ensuring that the clinical records meet the requirements of standards set by ORR. Collaborate with audits accordingly.
  • Complete Significant Incident Reports (SIRs) and ensure are thorough and submitted promptly according to ORR standards.
  • Meet with the UC twice a week for individual sessions.
  • Maintain regular communication and coordination of services with other professionals within the agency and thirdparty entities.
  • Participate in weekly meetings to address improvements, changes, or updates in policies and procedures.
  • Complete paperwork on time, ensuring that the clinical records meet the requirements of standards set by ORR. Collaborate with audits accordingly.

Position Requirements

  • Master's degree in MFT, MHC, MSW, or other relevant behavioral science; licensure preferred
  • Two years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a must
  • TF-CBT experience a plus
  • Excellent organizational/communication skills
  • Previous experience working with adolescents desired.

Skills Required:


  • Must be able to structure effective communications and be a team player
  • Proficiency in typing must be computer literate (strong knowledge of excel)
  • Reporting capabilities
  • Must be discreet and provide a high level of confidentiality

Working Conditions:


  • The 40hour workweek, with regular attendance at work and availability for flexible scheduling

Shifts:
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
- (Must be available occasional on-call weekends and/or nights if needed)_
