    Description

    Company Overview:

    Our client is a rapidly expanding mid-size company specializing in high-quality foods such as salsas, chiles, burritos, guacamole, and tortillas. They have more than doubled their business in recent years, with a strong focus on Hispanic and Southwestern cuisine.

    Position Overview:

    They are seeking a highly motivated and skilled R&D Product Design Leader to join the team in Denver, CO. This position will report directly to the Head of R&D and Quality.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Spearhead the development of innovative and delicious new food products
    • Drive growth for our existing brands
    • Lead cross-functional teams through the entire product development lifecycle, from concept ideation to commercialization.
    • Collaborate to design and prototype new food products.
    • Conduct sensory evaluations and refine formulations.
    • Source high-quality ingredients and improve existing recipes for quality and shelf life.
    • Work with production teams to scale up successful prototypes.
    • Maintain relationships with internal and external principal contacts

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science with 10+ years of R&D experience, including 5+ years of supervision, or M.S./PhD with 5+ years of experience and 3+ years of supervision.
    • Experience in frozen food development with a focus on Mexican cuisine is preferred.
    • Successful product launches, food chemistry, sensory analysis, quality control, excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
    • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
    • Excellent project management skills and a problem-solving attitude.
    • Passion for food science and quality.
    • Proficient in English; Spanish is helpful.
    • Up to 25%, sometimes independently.
