- Read and interpret project specifications and plans to prepare detailed, comprehensive, and accurate quantity and material price take-offs.
- Develop project cost summaries, present results and recommendations as needed; explain estimates to potential clients.
- Collaborate with LJM team members, landscape architects, clients, contractors and sub-contractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects and services, tracking actual cost relative to bids.
- Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies to ensure historical data is utilized.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proficient with CAD and other landscape software programs.
- Knowledge of landscape construction industry, building techniques and engineering.
- Knowledge of current project market pricing.
- Ability to read, interpret and follow blueprints as well as other planning/technical documents.
- Familiarity with building codes, laws and regulations.
- Understand construction concepts, scheduling, bidding and estimating.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- 3 years of landscape, construction and estimating experience preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in an industry-related field, such as architecture, construction management or engineering
