    Job Posting Description

    We are currently recruiting for per-diem Child Life Specialists to provide coverage in a variety of pediatric settings,including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, radiology, phlebotomy, pediatric surgery, and the emergency department. Must have current Child Life certification.

    This Per-Diem Child Life Specialist will be responsible for:
    • Participating in therapeutic activities and programs to meet patients' psychosocial and developmental needs, and facilitating adjustment to health care experiences for patients.
    • Serving as member of multidisciplinary team.
    • Providing coping support for patients and families when faced with trauma/grief
    • Delegating work assignments to volunteers and participating in clinical training of student interns.
    • Working on-call as needed to cover for staff vacations and vacancies.
    To qualify, you must have:
    • Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life.
    • 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist.
    • Child Life certification is required.
    • General skills to resolve problems requiring the use of child development theory, professional child life principles, and experienced-based knowledge.
    • Well-developed writing skills, and excellent communication skills including conflict resolution to effectively work as a team member.
