Summary:
The Rehab Technician assists the licensed staff member in designated duties related to patient care. Also performs supportive functions such as transporting patients, activities related to patient self care, cleaning equipment, checking inventory, etc.

Experience/Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Training through job orientation

Responsibilities:

Abides by all regulatory standards by completing assigned checklists in a timely manner.
A pplies and removes therapeutic modalities as directed by and under the supervision of licensed staff.
A ssists licensed staff members with therapeutic and social dining.
A ssists the licensed staff in patient care duties.
C ommunicates effectively with all members of the patient care team and with persons served.
K eeps treatment areas clean and tidy before, during and after patient care times.
M aintains equipment: assigns wheelchairs and walkers appropriately to patients, maintains equipment maintenance log, on a daily basis ensures equipment is cleaned and appropriate for patient use, and removes equipment from services as appropriate for maintenance and repair.
P articipates in quality improvement efforts.
P erforms supportive functions such as cleaning equipment, checking inventory and restocking equipment/supplies
S upports front desk and scheduling activity when needed.
T ransports patients to and from rehab services department and patient care unit, or other locations as needed. U tilize therapeutic equipment for patient care as instructed by licensed staff member.
