    Job DescriptionDescription:

    Overview: Perform as project representative in electrical distribution for routine to moderately complex construction projects (primarily level 1,2, and 3 projects which typically include new electrical services, moderate-scope power extensions, smaller multi-family units or developments, and other smaller commercial customers). Utilize sound decision making and trade experience to select optimal source of distributive power; including analyzing the most cost-effective design and construction costs supporting the customer project. Adherence to local municipality, NEC/NESC, and company's electrical requirements are at the foremost of project decision making.

    The ideal candidate will have previous experience working for a power utility within the Transmission and Distribution construction realm.

    Roles and responsibilities include:

    1) Perform planning, designing, scheduling, and coordinating all facets of the electrical project from initiation through construction, energization, and close-out.

    2) Effectively interface with customers/developers, internal departments, and municipalities to assess their needs, determine the scope of the project, obtain building plans, maps, and or drawings. Determine the layout of company facilities, consulting with external customers and/or municipality liaison and/or internal planning and operations as needed.

    3) Determine the need to obtain utility easements from property owners and permits from municipal authorities; process through internal right of way agents to obtain required legal easement and permit documents to design the project and preparing drawings.

    4) Gain and utilize knowledge of staking jobs in the field. Obtain notarized easements from the property owner. Design the project and prepare conceptual drawings or coordinate with design department.

    5) Prepare the work authorization and the estimates for both labor and material. When required, prepare extension agreement/contracts, coordinate request for feasibility studies, invoicing, and obtain approvals.

    6) Conduct various inspections prior to and during construction such as trenching, conduit, walls/fences, foundation pads, metering equipment and on-site visits to ensure the project is on schedule, and within code and company specifications.

    7) Trouble shoot and resolve routine problems encountered. Interface with internal company departments such as engineering to inform of activities that affect current and future facilities.

    8) Update related project management and customer information databases and close out the project upon completion.

    9) Contribute to the development and fostering of strong working relationships and partnerships with internal departments, customers, and outside companies.

    10) Works under moderate supervision.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in related field; with (2) years related combined experience in electrical or construction design, construction project management or construction customer service;

    Or Associate Degree in a related discipline with (2) years related combined experience in electrical or construction design, construction project management or construction customer service;

    Or High School Diploma and 4+ years related combined experience in electrical or construction design, construction project management, or construction customer service.

    Basic electricity course and draft/CAD experience are a plus.

    Previous experience working in a "Customer-facing" role.

    Customer Project Management Battery Aptitude Test is required.

    A valid Arizona Driver's License with clean driving history, Clean criminal background check, and drug free toxicology screenings are mandatory.

    Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications: Experience with customer interface, ability to adapt/respond to a variety of stakeholders, manage complaints, negotiation skills, and problem solving. Business, planning, and project management skills.

    Computer skills: Windows, Word Excel, CC&B, GIS, and work order management programs such as Maximo and Primavera. Proficiency in the application of PC skills and programs for data management and project scheduling as well as the analytical ability to evaluate the interdependent relationship of project variables.

    Successful completion of college Algebra. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills.

    May require Emergency response support for unusual or emergency situations, such as summer storms and/or other catastrophic events.
