Job Description :

The Senior Optomechanical Engineer at PowerLight Technologies plays a crucial role in the development and optimization of optomechanical systems for our cutting-edge photonic and laser technologies.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to design, analyze, and refine optical and mechanical components, ensuring the creativity, precision, and reliability of our products.

Key Responsibilities :

Optical and Optomechanical System Design:
Lead the design and development of optomechanical systems, including lens assemblies, mounting structures, and other optical and mechanical components.


Mechanical Modeling:

Utilize CAD software and finite element analysis (FEA) tools to model and simulate the behavior of mechanical components to ensure they meet performance and reliability requirements.

Tolerance Analysis:
Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure that optical components align within specified tolerances.


Materials and Manufacturing Selection:
Collaborate with other engineering and assembly specialists to select appropriate materials and fabrication methods, considering cost, quality, and performance.


Optical Testing:
Assist in planning and conducting tests and experiments to validate the performance of optomechanical systems and make necessary adjustments.


Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of designs, test results, and engineering changes. Create documentation for fabrication and assembly processes.


Collaboration:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including optical engineers, electrical engineers, and product and program managers, to ensure the successful integration of optomechanical components into final products.

Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement in existing designs and processes to enhance product performance and efficiency.


Qualifications:
Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.
D. in Mechanical Engineering, Optomechanical Engineering, or a related field.

At least 5 years of experience in optomechanical design and development. Fa miliarity with optical design fundamentals, software and quality requirements.

Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks), FEA tools, and LightTools in both a design and production environment.

Strong knowledge of optical principles and components.

Familiarity with precision machining and manufacturing processes. 3D printing experience a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.
