Full Job Description
Wage level is dependent on dental/sterilization work experience. Average hours 32-40 per week.

We are looking for a competent sterilization technician who will make the dentist's office more efficient and pleasant for patients.

Technicians should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect the dental office and OSHA regulations. We want you to be able to make office procedures as smooth as possible.

This position does have potential for growth into a dental assisting if that is desired after completion of training in sterilization.

Responsibilities

• Collect used and contaminated dental instruments and supplies for decontamination from operatories
• Completely sanitize dental operatories in between patients
• Preparing, wrapping, and packaging instruments for sterilization
• Sterilize instruments according to regulations
• Monitor and operate sterilization equipment such as a STATIM, M11 or Miele Dishwasher
• Examine supplies meticulously to ensure they are properly cleaned and sterilized for use
• Spore testing all sterilization equipment and reporting any issues or problems with equipment
• Maintain records of sterilization procedures and equipment repairs
• Welcome patients in the dental office
• Prepare patients for treatments ensuring their comfort
• Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed for dental appointments
• Keeping the dental room clean and wellstocked
• Assist hygiene in patient charting
