- Work on a team with other project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects.
- Take responsibility for alignment and profile, geometrics, drainage, development of plans and construction estimates.
- Provide assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications and calculations.
- Assist the Senior Engineer with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation and graphic presentation
- Perform overall site layout, grading, utility layout and drainage
- Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedure
- Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variable
- Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site project
- Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger project
- Perform other duties as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Excellent oral and written communication skill
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
- Experience with MicroStation, InRoads, AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred
- EIT certification strongly preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of 'Coordinator' and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
- Previous work experience with Cal Trans/Local Cities projects (studies and design) is preferred.
