The Job:
SmartStart Education seeks a paraeducator to work with high school students Monday-Friday at a school in New Haven, CT.
The paraeducator will serve as a 1:1 para aide for SPED students as assigned.
_Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with arrival and dismissal procedures, assisting in the cafeteria, and assisting in other duties assigned by the administration.
Job Details:
The position begins
as soon as possible and ends on June 13, 2024. The schedule will be
Monday - Friday from 7:45 am through 3:20 pm. _Applicants are encouraged to schedule interviews as soon as possible to allow ample time to complete onboarding steps. Failure to do so may result in a position being unavailable._

- Possession of an Associate's Degree (or higher),
OR have completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education,
OR Achieve at least a score of 457 on the
_EST ParaPro Assessment__._ - Demonstrate knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing in: Reading, writing and mathematics.
- Comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges faced by urban students, schools, and communities, encompassing racial disparity, socioeconomic disparity, and cultural disparity.
- Display of genuine passion and unwavering commitment towards fostering the success of students.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred, although not required.
- Exemplary punctuality, ensuring timely attendance and adherence to established schedules.
- Proficiency in communication skills, enabling effective and articulate interaction with students, colleagues, and interested parties.
- Ability to comfortably commute to the designated location.
Pay:
$18.50/hour
