Organizational Overview:


Responsibilities

  • Oversee external administration, annual audit and financial reporting for assigned hedge funds
  • Review all reports prepared by the external administrators as part of the monthly NAV process including cash, investment position and P&L reconciliations, and client allocations for accuracy and completeness
  • Perform reviews of annual financial statements prepared by the external administrators to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with GAAP
  • Ensure periodic fund NAV, client reporting and financial reporting deliverable deadlines are met
  • Identify exceptions and problems affecting accounting records and prices, communicating same to management, and assisting in their resolution
  • Research, as assigned, certain securities in Fund portfolios for the purpose of ensuring proper accounting and valuation, including the use of Bloomberg
  • Perform operational and financial due diligence on new and followon investments in a broad range of separate account, private equity, and hedge fund managers
  • Collaborate with other TIFF groups: Investment Team, Client Services, the Client CIO group, Compliance, and Fund Operations
  • Analyzing and creating efficiencies utilizing the various software programs at TIFF
  • Preparation of annual client reporting fees and working with the Client CIO group to analyze fee trends over time in relation to performance results

Qualifications

  • Experience in audit, preferably at a public accounting firm, with an interest and experience in the asset management industry
  • Bachelor's degree and with, or pursuing, a CPA designation
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and valuation methodologies
  • Strong MS Office knowledge, advanced in Excel and experience with relevant technology tools which enhance accounting processes (automation)
  • Initiative, strong analytical skills, attention to details, excellent oral and written communication skills and a curiosity for process improvement
