    This position is with the Central NY Regional Office, based out of Syracuse, NY.

    The nurse surveyor will be part of an interdisciplinary team of professionals whose primary responsibility will be to conduct onsite inspections of Adult Care Facilities (ACF) located within a 14-county radius to determine operational compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

    Prior to completing onsite survey work, the nurse surveyor will work with the team, review all pertinent facility information and survey history, and participates in pre-survey meetings when appropriate, in order to develop a plan to effectively measure facility compliance.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    Candidate must be a Registered Professional Nurse, licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State. In addition, the Candidate must have excellent telephone, listening and written communication skills, working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products and experience with complex data entry systems.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in working with MS Office products and exceptional organizational skills are required.


    Preferred Qualifications: The ideal Candidate will have professional skills including nursing surveillance, clinical skills, excellent writing and editing skills, and proficiency navigating computer applications used for surveillance or utilization review, SharePoint, and the Electronic Plan of Correction system, and has the ability to expeditiously and effectively interpret laws and regulations governing adult care and assisted living facilities in New York State.


    Responsibilities:

    Candidate will conduct onsite inspections of Adult Care Facilities (ACF) located within a 14-county radius in Central NY to determine operational compliance with applicable laws and regulation.


    Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: review complaint intakes, investigation of complaints, review of facility generated incident reports, report development using applicable computer programs, review of Plans of Correction, review of applications for new licensed and certified programs, review of facility Policies and Procedures, preparation of general correspondence, participation in meetings and on committees, and participation in Enforcement Action against ACFs including testifying at hearings.
