The Office of Innovation & Incubation serves as the charter authorizing agent for Chicago Public Schools.

It is responsible for overseeing and setting academic and operational expectations, as well as promoting best practices among the district's 89 charter and contract schools.

The office provides essential support to both charter and district-run schools, promoting innovative models and procedures to ensure that all students, from kindergarten to post-secondary education, have access to the necessary resources for success.


Job Summary:


Reporting to the Director of School Quality and Support, the Manager of School Quality Support serves a critical role in the academic support and Continuous School Improvement process for charter and contract schools.

The Manager of School Quality Support will lead initiatives to improve school quality and support, as well as manage the school quality aspects of charter authorization and renewal.

This role will lead the office's annual academic accountability synthesis, evaluation, and reporting to charter schools.

Moreover, the Manager of School Quality Support will oversee school quality projects and processes, and ensure proper documentation while managing the School Quality team.


The Manager of School Quality Support
will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:

  • Manage the Academic Remediation and Intensive Support processes to promote continuous school improvement.
  • Develop and implement school support tasks based on schoolbased tiering designations.
  • Facilitate and support charter and contract school principals' development of their Continuous Improvement Work Plan, including providing resources and creating strategies to aid with the change management needed to implement districtaligned transformational initiatives at the school level.
  • Manage and oversee the facilitation and sharing of innovative programs, practices, and resources to help schools engage in continuous improvement.
  • Support the development and implementation of I&I strategic initiatives, leading convergence and projects with various academic and support departments, and crosscollaborating with I&I teams to improve contract and charter school performance and student outcomes.
  • Manage the creation, drafts, and updates to school support process documentation and strategic plans.
  • Lead the analysis and review of academic data and school ratings to identify areas of growth and learning demands for schools and strategies for school support.
  • Ensure the implementation of contractual conditions assessed by school operator partners through the school Renewal process.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal education regulations and standards
  • Remain current on educational trends, research, and best practices.
  • Manage and oversee the implementation of school improvement visits to assess the quality of education and support services provided to students and monitor charter renewal conditions.
  • Collaborate with the internal partner departments to ensure compliance with assessments, provide training, and promote best practices.
  • Provide leadership, development, and supervision to the School Quality team, including performance management.
  • Other duties as assigned

In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Manager of School Quality Support must possess the following qualifications**:


Education Required:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Master's degree preferred

Experience Required:


  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional work experience with providing directly related school support services
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience leading largescale, complex projects with ambitious goals and deadlines requiring significant crossfunctional collaboration and oversi
