Job Summary


The Dialysis Equipment Technician functions as part of the acute dialysis team, promoting and providing a safe and clean working environment through the scheduling of cleaning and disinfecting of dialysis equipment, documentation of disinfection, and management of Biomedical maintenance and repair reports.

The Dialysis Tech is responsible for tasks related to preparation for dialysis treatment, performs required pre-treatment dialysis alarm testing and operates all related equipment appropriately and safely.

With documented competency and proficiency may set up and primes dialysis equipment as directed by the dialysis nurse as needed.

Participates in quality assessment and performance improvement activities. Performs weekly inventory of supplies, ensures consistent PAR levels are met, submits orders and tracks receipt of supplies. Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range


Minimum $23.77 Midpoint $31.49 Maximum $39.2- Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

  • Required: Minimum 6 months customer service experience required.
  • Preferred: Equipment or medical technician experience.
Education

  • Required: High School Diploma
  • Preferred: Graduation of a Biomedical Equipment Technician program
Specialized Skills

  • Required: Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position. Operate/troubleshoot equipment required for the position; Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with mínimal supervision.
Licensure

  • Required: None required.
  • Preferred: Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET)

Work Environments - Functional Demand:
Medium - High energy level Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Push/pull +/ lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher) Lateral transfer lbs. (ie. Patient).
