POSITION TITLE
Housekeeper


SUMMARY


The primary purpose of the job position is to implement required housekeeping procedures in efficient, cost effective manner meeting all state, federal and local requirements while providing a safe environment for our residents.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Places maintenance/housekeeping requests in the work order books.
  • Performs all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisor.
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with fellow coworkers and departments within the facility.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Maintains resident rooms by cleaning restroom walls, baseboards, doors, ceiling, mirrors, dusting, washing windows, removing trash, etc.
  • Moves furniture in order to dry and wet mop floors as needed. Uses wet floor signs to indicated wet floors.
  • Dusts and cleans all furniture and fixture, except smoke detectors in the following areas: resident rooms, isolation rooms, nursing stations, day rooms and shower rooms using various cleaners, disinfectant chemicals.

  • Adhere to and carry out all policies and procedures.
  • Report onthe job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
  • Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with coworkers, residents, families and visitors.
  • Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operations and personnel.
  • Promote the facility in a positive manner.
  • Promote teamwork in providing services to resident.
  • Adhere to the Company mission statement.

KNOWLEDGE EXPECTATIONS

  • OSHA-MSDS sheets and procedures.
  • Fire and safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate and maintain equipment: FAX machines, calculator, photocopier, telephone, computer and printer.
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet and presentation softwear.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, turning, stooping, bending, stretching, reaching and lifting to assist residents.
  • Must be able to lift fifty pounds.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
  • Alert and attentive to detail. Ability to remember names and places. Able to plan own work activities and manage multiple tasks. Residents always come first.
  • Must present a neat, clean, professional appearance and demonstrate a positive, cheerful attitude towards associates and residents.
  • Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with coworkers, residents, families and visitors.
  • Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operations and personnel.
