- Responsibilities: The Maintenance and Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing both plant maintenance and engineering functions within the organization. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
- Maintenance Oversight:
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures and protocols to ensure the efficient operation of all plant equipment.
- Lead and supervise maintenance teams to perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
- Collaborate with production and other departments to schedule maintenance activities without disrupting operations.
- Engineering Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the engineering team to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Evaluate and recommend upgrades or modifications to existing equipment to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control measures in all engineering activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement engineering solutions that align with organizational goals.
- Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and develop maintenance and engineering staff.
- Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and innovation within the department.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Promote a proactive approach to problem-solving and encourage continuous learning among the team.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Regularly update the Plant Manager on the status of maintenance and engineering activities.
- Prepare and present reports on key performance indicators, project statuses, and resource utilization.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards.
