Radiology Tech/Procedure Assistant

We are an Ambulatory Surgery Center seeking for an
X-Radiology Technician. Qualifications include Current New York Radiological Technologist License; certification from an accredited school of Radiology and Registration with A.R.R.T.

is preferred. Recent documented relevant experience required.

Purpose and Scope:

Assists Surgeon and Registered Nurse by performing duties as Procedure Assistant during procedures.
Promotes safety of patients, coworkers and self through practice of Standard/Universal Precautions.
Maintains proper functioning and documents of Carm equipment and accessories according to facility policy.
Performs assigned duties under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities:

Assembles the necessary supplies and equipment according to the type of procedure being performed
Assists in positioning of patient on the stretcher
Assists physician during procedures requiring Carm
Observes progress of procedure and provides additional equipment, supplies or other items to physician as needed
Adheres to infection control policy and procedure
Cleans equipment and supplies at the end of procedure according to the manufacture's guidelines and the Center's policy and procedure.
Assists with the orientation of new personnel
Participates in designated inservice programs
Maintains confidentiality
