    Job Description

    The Director, Procedural Supply Chain is responsible for management of supply chain processes including inventory management of owned and consigned supplies, replenishment, vendor management, bill only implants, tissue tracking, and managing the data integrity of procedure or physician preference cards across all procedural departments within the Children's system. This includes Operating Room (OR), Special Procedures, Cath Lab & Interventional Radiology, and associated support functions at our three hospitals, and ambulatory service centers.

    Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain, Children's top supply chain executive, the Director has direct people leadership of two mangers, and nearly 20 procedural supply team members. The team is responsible to execute strategies to optimize the performance of supply chain in all clinical procedural departments.

    The Director, through collaboration with System Strategic Sourcing Value Analysis framework, will be responsible to implement all improvement initiatives and leads the coordination of value analysis committees.

    Job Responsibilities
    • Provide system-level leadership and direction to the supply chain operations in the procedural areas including demand planning, par and perpetual inventory management, case picking, bill only implants / tissue tracking and vendor management.
    • Support the system strategic sourcing initiatives for supplies & purchased services as well as optimal product utilization by collaborating closely with Physicians and Clinical leadership.
    • Lead and support the implementation of standardization, utilization, and cost savings initiatives.
    • Manage the performance of key supply and purchased service suppliers through structured business review process and incorporation of appropriate performance metrics.
    • Through streamlined business processes, compliance, and data integration, oversee management of physician preference cards and compliance of supply charge capture in all procedural areas.
    • Lead the design and deployment of Supply Chain operating model across the health system which includes managed inventory locations across clinical and ancillary departments.
    • Actively engage with clinicians and service line leaders to develop comprehensive clinical utilization protocols that leverage System goals and capabilities and support quality, financial and service objectives.
    • Achieve stakeholder support and collaboration through participation in cross functional teams, engagement in conversations that expose core business and service objectives and sharing best practices for comprehensive success.
    • Encourage and develop individual talent and ambition, targeting individuals for growth opportunities. Inspire and insist upon consistent, transparent, ethical practices from all team members in all situations.
    • Establish stretch performance goals and develop actionable plans to accomplish them.
    • Network with peers in similar organizations (i.e. CHCA member hospitals); benchmark performance and strategize with counterparts on common opportunities.
    Required Experience
    • At least seven years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Contracting, or Supply Chain Operations.
    • Track record of developing and leading high-performance teams that deliver superior customer service by achieving desired results within specified timelines.
    • Thorough knowledge and experience leading process analysis, strategy development, policies and procedures, large scale change management, and organizational development functions.
    • Track record of driving supply chain value, speed of execution, and reliability within multi-site healthcare clinical procedural departments.
    Education
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, logistics, materials management, business or related field is required.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Success in building and leading high-performance teams that deliver superior customer service by achieving desired results within specified timelines.
    • Self-motivated high achiever with proven ability to manage multiple, strategically critical projects and timelines.
    • Strong relationship-building skills coupled with excellent communication, including verbal, written and presentation.
    • Proficient in analysis techniques and tools to support budget planning, decision support, cost efficiencies and performance management.
    • Demonstrates the following skills in accomplishing job duties and responsibilities: Advanced management skills required to lead department, including management of staff performance and development, team building and communications, resolution of issues and conflicts, review and approval of work, and hiring and training employees.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master's degree in business or healthcare administration.
    • Professional certification in procurement discipline (CMRP, PMP, CPM, and APICS) or Lean Six-Sigma process improvement experience.
    • Eight (8) years of management experience in supply chain healthcare or comparable industry.
    • Supply chain experience in a multi-site healthcare system is strongly preferred.
    • Workday Supply Change experience is strongly preferred.
    • Experience leading the implementation of a point of use technology for clinical and procedural areas.
