    AdventHealth is looking for a dynamic Palliative Medicine Executive Medical Director to continue to develop and oversee our program at our major tertiary facility in downtown Orlando, this facility is in our Central Florida Division which consists of ten hospitals.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide the clinical leadership and expertise for the palliative care team to improve patient care throughout the hospital
    • Continue to build effective relationships with referring physicians to ensure excellent follow-up by our existing team of palliative medicine physicians
    • Facilitate continued collaboration among specialists, PCPs and nurses to meet the needs of patients and families
    • Continue the growth and development of the program throughout central Florida
    • Collaborate with leadership to build a strategy to provide palliative care beyond the walls of the hospital including outpatient, hospice and SNF's
    • Continue growth and leadership of the palliative care fellowship program

    Requirements of the position include:

    • At least Five years experience in Palliative Medicine post training
    • Active Board Certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine along with active board certification through one of the co-sponsoring boards.
    • Previous experience in directing a program preferred but not required

    Practice Description

    This is an employment opportunity through AdventHealth Medical Group, a 900+ physician, multi-specialty organization. AHMG is a sister organization of AdventHealth.     AdventHealth Orlando is an internationally renowned hospital that specializes in life-saving medical treatments, preventative care and pioneering research. Our healing network includes 30 hospitals and more than 100 extended service locations across the state of Florida.     AdventHealth Orlando is our 1,364 bed tertiary facility with close to 160 ICU beds. It is at the center of nine other hospitals around the greater Orlando area, which total approximately 3,000 beds. AdventHealth operates many hospitals across nine different states; 30 of which are in Florida. Our mission has remained the same and is to Extend the Healing Ministry of Christ.

    Since 1908, AdventHealth Orlando has cared for the Central Florida community as well as patients from around the world. AdventHealth Orlando is an acute-care, tertiary hospital caring for approximately 300,000 patients a year.
