- Compile and maintain journal vouchers and general ledger
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
- Assist with internal audit plan, testing, and engagements
- Maintain corporate fixed asset schedules
- Assist with year-end closing and preparation of year end schedules
- Assist with year-end certified financial audit by outside accounting firm
- Sales and use tax reporting
- Perform escheat (unclaimed property) reporting
- Prepare and submit government surveys
- Maintain patent spreadsheet
- Tracking of intercompany inventory transactions
- Review of requisitions for correct GL coding and proper authorization
- Prepare and submit annual state filings
- General ledger account reconciliation and analysis
- Cross-training in other accounting department functions and meetings
- Enforce company policies and standards
- Perform other duties as required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- One (1) to three (3) years experience with general accounting functions and/or audit
- Flexible to effectively adapt to changing conditions
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work well with others
- ERP experience and FAS experience preferred
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to recommend and implement accounting and financial policies
- Must be willing to work extended hours during tax, internal and audit seasons

Job description summary:
Our organization is seeking a highly skilled staff accountant to be a member of a critical area of our accounting department. This position is primarily responsible for assisting in all accounting records, journals and ledgers while maintaining a well organized work space.
