Your Role and Impact


As a Senior Manager, Project Management, you will lead and oversee the Project Management Office (PMO), guiding the PM team to execute projects that span across infrastructure, security, network product, and technology initiatives within Cognizant's healthcare vertical.

Your leadership will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet or exceed customer expectations. You'll champion project management best practices and methodologies, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Essential Functions:


  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement PMO strategies, aligning with organizational goals. Lead, mentor, and grow the PM team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous development.
  • Project Oversight: Direct the initiation, planning, execution, and closure of multiple, complex projects. Ensure rigorous management of scope, schedule, quality, and budget, while maintaining stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Implement contingency plans to ensure project continuity and success.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with executive sponsors, stakeholders, and crossfunctional teams. Ensure clear, effective communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Encourage innovation within the team. Lead retrospectives and lessons learned to drive improvements in processes and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or related field. PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years in a leadership role within a software development or project management environment. Healthcare industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage complex projects and teams in a dynamic, fastpaced environment. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Clarizen).

Expanded Role and Responsibilities


In addition to leading the Project Management Office (PMO), the Senior Manager, Project Management, will actively manage select projects, demonstrating expertise in hands-on project management and execution.

This dual role requires a balance of strategic oversight and direct project involvement, ensuring the delivery of innovative and transformative healthcare solutions.


  • Team Leadership and Development: Guide and mentor the PM team, promoting a culture of excellence. Drive the professional growth of team members, enhancing their capabilities in project management and leadership.
  • Strategic Project Planning and Execution: Combine strategic oversight with handson project management, ensuring projects align with business goals. Effectively manage project scope, timelines, and budgets, delivering highquality solutions that meet client needs.
  • Stakeholder Management and Communication: Foster strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, from executive sponsors to project team members. Ensure transparent and effective communication, aligning stakeholder expectations with project deliverables.
  • Innovative Solution Delivery: Champion innovation in project delivery, utilizing cuttingedge technologies and methodologies to enhance project outcomes. Stay abreast of industry trends to implement best practices in project management.
