Job Description

We are in search of a Lab Technician to join the research lab team at our company, based in Johnston, Iowa. In this role, you will work closely with technical staff, assisting in various laboratory operations and handling routine tasks to support scientific research under supervision.

Tasks will be carried out following established methods and guidance provided by the team.

Duties:

Culture and process microbial strains.
Extract total protein from bacteria and plant samples.
Assist in sample preparation for whole genome sequencing.
Manage inventory of lab supplies and equipment.
Maintain detailed biological sample records in the lab.
Transfer inventory data to databases.
Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related field.
Previous lab experience preferred.
Proficient in aseptic techniques.
Strong organizational skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Additional Preferred Experience:

Working with BSL-2 microorganisms.
Proficiency in molecular biology techniques.
Experience with genomic DNA extraction.

This is a full-time position with weekday daytime hours.
