  • The 1A District Agricultural Association (DAA), Cow Palace Arena & Event Center, is recruiting to fill one (1) Rental and Operations Officer position located in Daly City.
  • Under the direction of the Secretary-Manager V (CEO), the Rental and Operations Officer will plan, direct, and oversee the interim rental events and operations of the 1A District Agricultural Association/Cow Palace.

  • Duties for this position included but are not limited to:
Negotiate rental agreements with promoters and agents for interim events.

  • Estimate event charges for contracting and reimbursement billing.
  • Oversee the contracting and execution timeline to ensure interim events are contracted and paid according to DAA policies.
  • Ensure the accuracy of contracts and financial analysis of events.
  • Ensure all rental documents are evaluated annually and kept current to stay in compliance with CDFA guidelines.
  • Oversee annual market analysis to ensure the DAA remains competitive in the marketplace.
  • Direct the use of the facility before, during, and after rental events.
  • Coordinate the building operations for all event facilities.
  • Coordinate multiple events and scheduling of spaces.
  • Draft contracts for facility services and improvements to ensure facility upkeep and enhancement.
  • Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the activities and performance of the Event Coordinator; these activities include the setup, staffing, staging, and execution of all events.
  • Assist the Event Coordinator on site during large and complex events to ensure a high level of service and attention.
  • Assist with the public relations work of the DAA, representing the DAA to visitors' bureaus, community interest groups, and convention contacts. Foster and nurture community contacts.

Working Conditions

  • Incumbent will work in a standard office environment in addition to indoor and outdoor events with various degrees of weather. May regularly be required to work irregular hours and weekends.

  • The 1A District Agricultural Association, (DAA) Cow Palace Arena & Event Center consists of approximately 68 acres with a 16,000seat arena, 2 50,000 square feet halls, 20,000 square feet halls, various additional buildings, warehouses, maintenance shops, outdoor horse arena, stockyards and 3 parking areas. The Cow Palace Arena & Event Center produces the annual Grand National Junior Livestock, Horse Show and Rodeo as well as operates as a multipurpose, multifunctional, yearround facility accommodating a variety of interim events which preserves, promotes, and showcases the area's agriculture and other talents of its culturally diverse communities.
  • Special Requirements
  • This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within thirty (30) days of appointment, on an annual basis, and upon vacating the position. The incumbent must complete an Ethics orientation training course within six months of assuming a Form 700 covered position, and every two (2) years thereafter, by December 31 of each numbered year. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.
