The Assistant Vice President | Business Intelligence and Member Analytics (BIMA) works collaboratively with Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) to develop and maintain reporting systems that provide easily accessible information for informed decision-making.

The BIMA uses vendor and warehouse data to identify and solve organizational problems through reports, analysis, and data visualization.

This position provides enterprise-wide data warehouse expertise for key stakeholders with an emphasis on data design, access, usage, security, and quality of information assets.


The BIMA has frequent interaction with Executive Team members to review and refine requirements and expectations, and also works with other key staff members to identify, develop, access, and report on data that can be utilized to implement strategic initiatives that will have a substantial impact on our financial performance.


Responsibilities:


  • In concert with the CSO, will develop and maintain key performance indicators and a balanced scorecard of critical success measurements at a department and corporate level.
  • Perform routine data modeling to identify trends and opportunities, transforming them into actionable business strategies, including operating efficiency and performance improvements for each department or line of business.
  • Present data in a clear and concise manner such that Connex management can quickly understand the results and recommendations and make datadriven decisions.
  • Specialize in developing and programming methods, process and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse big data sources to perform and generate insights and solutions for member services and product enhancements. Collaborate with staff in developing or enhancing our suite of products and services.
  • Maintain an accurate and comprehensive inventory of data reporting analytics and dashboards. To the extent available, work with existing vendors to extract data that vendors already produce, rather than creating independently.
  • Protect confidential information.
  • Support ad hoc reporting.
  • Responsibilities also include other duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:


  • Five or more years of data analysis/business intelligence experience.
  • Possesses strong analytical, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to use presentation, word processing, and database or spreadsheet software. Possesses strong oral and written communication skills to clearly and accurately communicate complex and/or technical information to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Selfmotivated yet able to work within a team environment and communicate with colleagues in both business and technical roles.
  • Knowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts.
  • MS SQL Server, Integration Services and Reporting Platform(s).
  • Strong Transact SQL (T-SQL) scripting abilities and understanding of complex stored procedures, views, data aggregation/manipulation through table joins/queries, database design, normalization and denormalization techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of BI areas including the process of combining data from various sources into a central repository, such as a data warehouse, data lake, or business intelligence tool (Extract, Transform, Load (ETL)) design, analytics, and reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, engineering or applied mathematics.
  • Experience in financial services preferred.
  • Able to pass banking background checks.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
