Under the direction of the Nurse-Manager and in partnership with other members of the Pavilion's multi-disciplinary team, the
Shift Coordinator
is a responsible for a wide variety of administrative and operational tasks that support a highly therapeutic milieu, optimal workflow, and safe physical environment for both patients and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.
Staff Support
A.
Scheduling
·
create and maintain the daily nursing schedule for all shifts (Day, Evening, Overnight)
·
ensure that all shifts meet required levels of RN/CRC staffing
·
arrange timely coverage for sick-calls and time-off requests, utilizing per diem and float staff
·
maintain clear communication with all nursing staff regarding scheduling protocol
B.
Orientation and Continuing Education
·
schedule and document required trainings, classes, and certifications for new nursing staff
·
maintain orientation records, including required (CPR/CPI) certifications and renewal dates
·
assist in scheduling and communicating required trainings
C.
Communications
·
attend daily rounds and bi-weekly staff meetings, compose and distribute timely notes
·
update and distribute staff contact lists as needed
·
assist Nurse-Manager in updating and communicating policies, procedures, etc.
·
communicate time-sensitive information to Pavilion staff and other McLean departments
·
adhere to strict HIPAA guidelines in all communication
2.
Environmental Support
A.
Inventory and Procurement
·
maintain inventory and purchase supplies to support high-quality milieu and productive work-flow
·
communicate regularly with Pavilion staff and other hospital departments [e.g., Facilities, Dietary, Housekeeping] to ensure optimal supplies
B.
Technical Support
·
act as point of contact for all Facilities, Telecommunications, and IT issues
·
collaborate with nursing staff to ensure all clinical devices are in good working order
·
facilitate repairs and replacements
·
submit monthly equipment and IT logs as required by McLean/MGB
3.
Operational Support
A.
Budget
·
maintain system for collecting and recording receipts for program activities/purchases
·
submit monthly expense reports as needed
B.
Timekeeping Support
·
after required UKG training, serve as additional time-keeper, if needed
·
monitor and submit weekly records for accurate payroll information, if needed

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or three years of related experience required.
Experience in the healthcare field preferred
