- Underwrite environmental insurance products including site pollution liability, contractors' pollution liability, and contractors' pollution/professional policies working with both retail and wholesale brokers.
- Negotiation of policy terms and conditions while adhering to Allied World Environmental Underwriting Guidelines and Procedures.
- Execute a broker distribution strategy to generate new business opportunities and service existing accounts.
- Prepare quotes, binders, referrals, and underwriting file documentation in compliance with company guidelines.
- Develop and manage positive and effective working relationships with a commitment to service for all associates (brokers, insureds, and internal personnel) leading to high customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate and conduct regular marketing calls, account stewardship meetings, and events to promote Allied World product offerings.
- Participate in local professional organizations, and remain current and engaged with existing and prospect insureds and brokers on key developments in the marketplace.
- Continue professional development through relevant training courses, continuing education, and/or seminars.
- Three (3) or more years of experience in environmental underwriting, environmental consulting, environmental health and safety, or environmental risk analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to provide superior customer service to our brokers and insureds.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make underwriting decisions and recommendations.
- Strong business and relationship management skills to develop new business opportunities, retain renewal accounts, and establish strategic broker relationships.
- Excellent organizational, time and desk management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize workload.
- CPCU, ARM, or environmental related designations a plus.
- Undergraduate degree required.
- Approximately 15-20% travel required.
