Communications Specialist

Part-Time/25 hrs per week


Position Objectives:

Mosaic Virginia is a Christian, Pro-Life 501c3 organization that has been serving women with unplanned pregnancies and strengthening families for more than 30 years.

We are looking for a Communications Specialist who will take our donor communications to the next level and be a catalyst for engaging our donor base and community in our mission.

The Communications Specialist will produce high-quality, engaging content while ensuring Mosaic Virginia's brand and visibility is protected and enhanced. An exceptional storyteller, the Communications Specialist is an expert in delivering fresh content through a variety of platforms.

• Exhibit a strong commitment and dedication to the sanctity of all human life.
• Agree fully with, and be willing to uphold the Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Statement of Principle, and policies of the center.
• Exceptional communicator in writing and verbally; comfortable with public speaking
• Able to gather and produce fresh content engaging with program teams to stay informed of Mosaic Virginia's work and reading about latest news and trends.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal, organization, administrative, and project management skills.
• Proven experience in content writing; provide various samples
• Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies.
• Experience with graphic design and website management.
• Assist staff with the development of presentation of outreach materials.
• Bachelor's degree in communications and nonprofit content writing
• Tech savvy; highly proficient in MS Office, Google platforms, Adobe Creative Suite
• Advanced knowledge of social media
• Excellent time management and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan to advance Mosaic's brand, broaden awareness of programs, and increase visibility across key stakeholder audiences.
• Oversee production and design of printed materials and brochures to ensure these are kept current.
• Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in communication and outreach.
• Development and implement PR strategies including media outreach, issuing press releases, fielding media inquiries.
• Ensure consistent use of messaging and branding.
• Prepare photography and other media for publication and maintain digital media library.
• Develop and implement social networking strategies; develop content and monitor and respond to inquiries.
• Work with vendors to manage websites, maintain integrity of website content and structure.
• Work with CEO and Development Director to advance the work of Mosaic Virginia, promoting good will and fostering relationships within the community.
• Assist with fundraising and outreach strategy and events; be available for occasional nights and weekend events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
