Aviation Rescue Swimmers are dedicated to assisting in rescue missions, humanitarian efforts, and operational support in challenging conditions.
From evacuating families during catastrophic storms to rescuing ship crews or mountain climbers in perilous situations, the responsibilities are diverse and critical.
Specializing as a Naval Aircrewman Helicopter (AWS) or a Naval Aircrewman Tactical Helicopter (AWR), you will be at the forefront of critical missions in extreme environments.
Extensive training in swimming, lifesaving techniques, helicopter operations, and more is required before deployment. The training pipeline includes programs such as Aircrew Candidate School, Rescue Swimmer School, and Fleet Replacement Squadrons to prepare you for the challenges ahead.
Upon completion, you may be stationed at various locations worldwide, offering a dynamic and rewarding career.
Based on performance, you may receive additional training in emergency medical response, rescue operations, and more. Advanced education opportunities are available, providing valuable skills both in the Navy and beyond.
While a college degree is not mandatory, the role demands continuous learning and development to excel in demanding scenarios.
