Description

Global Logistics and Fulfillment, a fast-growing third-party logistics business operating in Las Vegas and the Southern California Inland Empire,
seeks a dynamic, bilingual (English/Spanish
) and computer-savvy Human Resource Manager to oversee attracting, developing and retaining high quality talent in our Nevada and California operations; work with company management to drive HR improvements, employee engagement and a culture of quality; and manage company compliance with Federal/State requirements, audits, and enforcement of internal company policies.


This position will require regular travel between our Rancho Cucamonga and Las Vegas locations, and can be based in either region. Work location is envisioned as in-person (onsite), although some remote work may be possible. The HR Manager will report to the President or designated top company executive.


Specific duties for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Managing all company HR activities, communications, reports, requests, record-keeping, documentation and compliance in accordance with HR methodologies and labor laws;
  • Daytoday management of payroll, electronic time punches, onboarding/termination, monitoring attendance, and other HR reporting using ADP Workforce Now;
  • Working closely with company management to plan and secure adequate staffing for daily operations, as well as oversee recruitment, interviewing, verifications, and onboarding/orientation of new employees;
  • Monitoring and documenting compliance with company policies, assessing and implementing training programs, and scheduling/documenting periodic staff performance evaluations in collaboration with department supervisors;
  • Maintaining records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO, OSHA, and other employment regulatory bodies; handling FMLA and COBRA requirements, Workers Compensation claims, and coordinating workplace investigations;
  • Overseeing Workers Compensationrelated issues including investigations, risk reduction, insurance coverage, and all WC auditrelated compliance;
  • Maintaining and improving company benefits programs, creating employee rewards/recognition programs, and supporting efforts to strengthen the development of a company culture;
  • Supporting company management with organizational structure and staff planning, development of job descriptions, leadership training, and improvement of company policies;
  • In collaboration with Operations leadership, managing Safety Committee membership and documentation at each facility location; as well as conducts, documents and/or assists accident/incident investigations, as needed;
  • Regularly monitoring and reporting staff overtime and undertime data at each facility to company management;
  • Creating and maintaining employee suggestions/comment boxes or tablets at each facility, and act as key point of contact for HR questions from staff;
  • Leading company reviews of HRIS options, evaluations, and system implementations;
  • Overseeing temporary agency relations, contracts and communications regarding temporary staff and payroll;
  • In collaboration with company management, periodic reporting of labor, employee and safety metrics for company decisionmaking;
  • Supporting internal and external requests related to the HR department;
  • Overseeing any staff dedicated to supporting related HR or administrative duties;
  • Other human resourcerelated activities as assigned.

Requirements or Preferences:


  • Must have a minimum of 8 years of professional human resource experience, with preference for those with 4 or more years in supervisorial or management positions;
  • Experience with ADP WorkforceNow or comparable HRIS is required;
  • Must have strong knowledge of employment law and regulations in California and Nevada, HR best practices, and high degree of confidentiality in HR matters;
  • Must have excellent computer skills (MS Office, HRIS, GoogleDocs, etc), be technologicallysavvy, and strong English writing skills;
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and have ability to pass drug screen and background check.

Compensation:


  • Starting salary of $70,000 annually
  • Benefits includes 401(k) matching; dental, vision and life insurance; PTO
