Primary Job Functions:
Manage and maintain an office in an efficient manner. Maintain the extracurricular books, process purchase orders and keep the corporation accounts within budget. Perform other tasks as designated by the building administrator.
SALARY BENEFITS:
Hourly pay range of $ , commensurate with school experience.

Minimum Qualifications and Credentials Required:
Educational Requirements:
A high school education is required. Technical education is preferred.
Possess Skills and Knowledge:
Bookkeeping, clerical, computer software, and human relations.
Experience:
None required, but office experience is preferred.
Certification:
Motivation to attain certification through school or professional association is desirable.
Other:
Maintain a good relationship with pupils, staff, patrons, and the community.
Essential Functions:
1.2 Greet students, parents, visitors at office.
1.3 Answer phone, route voice mail messages.
1.4 Provide teachers with supplies.
1.5 Process school mailing.
1.6 Operate office equipment: calculator, typewriter, copier, computer, voice mail computer, elementary school system computer program, fax, phone system, risograph, laminator, and intercom system.
1.8 Supervise students who are dropped off before school stars.
1.9 Assist with the pick-up of students at the end of the day.
1.10 Process materials for Principal, head custodian, and band director, as needed.
1.11 Assist in the nurse's room, as needed.
1.12 Maintain records for extracurricular accounts and have balances available.
1.13 Maintain principal's calendar.
1.14 Operate bookstore, stock and re-order items.
1.15 Maintain current class lists.
2.2 Check in deliveries as they arrive.
2.3 Prepare and make bank deposits.
2.4 Enter deposits and balance ledger sheets.
2.5 Pay invoices.
2.6 Assist with setting up facility usage. Maintain records and deliver payments to the Superintendent's office.
2.7 Keep records and collect all monies for field trips.
2.8 Assist the P.T.O. treasurer with monies spent by the building.
4.2 Process monthly report for Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations.
4.3 Record, write receipts, and follow-up on textbook rental. Provide bi-yearly textbook report for corporation treasurer.
4.4 Keep inventory of office supplies and order as needed.
4.5 Assist with scheduling and performance of fire/tornado/HMI drills.
4.6 Order supplies for bookstore.
5.2 Assist with all school registration and prepare all items needed for registration.
5.3 Alphabetize and assemble enrollment cards.
5.4 Prepare end-of-year financial report and other end-of-year reports.
5.5 Distribute classroom material at first of year.
5.6 Supervise end-of-year check out for teachers.
5.7 Delete voice mailboxes which are no longer needed and add voice mailboxes for new teachers.
5.8 Process purchase orders for instructional supplies
5.9 Process specification sheets.
5.10 Process CPF bids and then process purchase orders for CPF.
5.11 Check all orders and supplies when they arrive.
5.12 Request textbook/workbook ordering information from teachers.
5.13 Process parent handbook, faculty handbook and student folder.
5.14 Assist with entering all students in the computer and assign students to homerooms.
5.15 Process class lists for teachers.
5.16 Write textbook rental receipts and enter textbook rental payments in computer.
5.17 Coordinate school pictures by setting time, place, schedule and class list for photographer.
5.18 Assist parent volunteer in compilation and formation of yearbook.
5.19 Assist with ISTEP/CTBS materials and their distribution and collection and assembling for mailing.
5.20 Process adoption materials orders for following school year.
5.21 Maintain C.P.R. certification
6.2 School errands to the post office, bank, administration center.
6.3 Call buses when needed.
6.4 Contact vendors for machine repairs.
6.5 Refund book rental.
6.6 Schedule Saturday School supervisors and students.
6.7 Maintain student discipline records.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
