The YWCA is seeking a dynamic, effective, community-focused, and collaborative Coordinator. This individual is a key member of our Health & Wellness organizational pillar supporting youth programming.


Job Summary:


The Coordinator is responsible for assisting with overseeing the Kids Connection, and Camp Funkist enrichment programs including staff members, campers, parents, OCFS/DOH.

Coordinator will be responsible for keeping the environment safe while ensuring both programs provide quality program activities.


Key Responsibilities
-
Program Oversight & Administration_

  • Accountable for oversight of afterschool program, ensuring alignment YWCA mission, strategy, and objectives.
  • In coordination with Program Director, develop, manage, and implement program schedule of activities.
  • Assist with outreach and recruitment of afterschool staff and program participants.
  • Monitor program, participants files and assure all items are complete and meet OCFS/SACC requirements.
  • Supervising youth and presenting positive role modeling through all interactions with program participants.

Program Operations:_

  • Provide a fun and safe environment for all participants.
  • Assist in the recruiting process and make recommendations for prospective counselors.
  • Attend and contribute to precamp training sessions with camp counselors.
  • Complete counselor work schedules
Engage with parents in conversation and addressing concerns.


Qualifications:


Essential Experience:


  • Associate degree in recreation or program administration preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years in youth development and/or summer day camp program with minimum of 2 years in a group supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Experience in developing and implementing youth programs.

Licensing and/or Certifications:
ACA Camp Director Preferred
