Area Manager

Location:
Flagstaff/Remote, At Home


Status:
Full-Time, Exempt


Salary:
$55K


Job Summary:


Essential Functions

  • Reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions._
  • Maintain knowledge of and adheres to all current AHCCCS and DDD and Absolute HCBS policies and procedures
  • Work closely with HCBS Area Specialists and the Director of Area Management to see that needs and deadlines are met
  • Perform timesheet approvals and data management for payroll
  • Track client habilitation data and all required paperwork
  • Manage proper file storage and keeps client records current
  • Attend client Planning Meetings and other client focused meetings as necessary
  • Performs all necessary planning document follow up including writing habilitation goals and performing Attendant Care monitor visits
  • Ensure adequate staffing and completes all associated documentation
  • Complete Incident Reports per DDD standards and requirements
  • Utilize client features to keep critical records current
  • Send clientbased communication to guardians as needed through approved platforms
  • Manage certifications, training compliance, licensing requirements and other required documents for Direct Support Providers under their supervision
  • Handle client concerns as necessary and completes, documents, and communicates resolutions appropriately
  • Provide input and guidance to Community Relations and HR teams on locating new clients and growing revenue
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to hire new Direct Support Providers, including but not limited to; managing referrals and conducting interviews
  • Ensure that regional business goals, deadlines and performance standards are met
  • Collaborate with senior Area Management to provide onboarding and training for new HCBS Area Specialists
  • Keep personal certifications, job specific training, and required documentation up to date
  • Collaborate with the Community Relations Department to attract clients and providers through outreach programs, marketing and other agency platforms
  • Support the Community Relations department by participating in community, provider and member engagement events. These requirements are for
  • Community Events,
  • Provider Event and ALL Member Engagement Events.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and supervises the activities direct report employees
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
  • Direct Support Providers assigned to their region

Work Environment

  • This position is a hybrid position
  • Attending DDD meetings is required

Physical Demands

  • May be required to perform physical duties such as lifting, bending, kneeling, walking etc.
  • Must be able to work within a variety of work environments indoor, outdoor and in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at times.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 months experience and/or education in the field of developmental disabilities or related. Acceptable experience includes but is not limited to caring for a family member with a disability, previous employment as a provider or a caregiver, a special education teaching degree, paraprofessional certification, volunteering with a disabilityrelated community organization etc.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must complete and maintain the minimum necessary training classes
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance card.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least one year of DDD industry experience

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two years of DDD industry experience
  • One year of supervisory experience
