The Hamburg State Opera GmbH is seeking a full-time Requisiteur (m/f/d) for the stage department at Aspen Hill, MD, starting as soon as possible.


  • Pay grade 6 TV-AVH
  • The Hamburg State Opera is one of the leading opera houses in Europe. Each season, the program includes six operas and two ballet premieres on the main stage, as well as numerous revivals from the extensive repertoire, which covers works from almost 350 years of music history. Showcasing modern music theater, combining old works with new perspectives, and preserving the classics of the repertoire are important programmatic focal points, alongside a strong passion for the new.

Key responsibilities:

  • Procurement and production of props and furniture
  • Provision of props and furniture during rehearsals and performances
  • Maintenance, upkeep, and repair of props and furniture
  • Creation of documentation
  • Creation of digital content with floor plans, measurements, and procedures
  • Design and implementation of special effects and pyrotechnics
  • Inventory and storage of props and effects
  • Handling and provision of weapons
  • Procurement of work materials and tools
  • Maintenance and upkeep of machinery and tools

Requirements:

  • Completed vocational training in a technical or craft profession
  • IHK certification as a "statecertified Requisiteur" is desirable
  • Several years of professional experience as a Requisiteur in a comparable theater company
  • Training as a stage pyrotechnician is preferred
