Position Title:
Gate Operations Representative

Pay Range :
$16.50 per hour

Position Purpose:

Welcomes guests to the annual OC Fair and ensures proper admission at the gates. This is a seasonal temporary position not to exceed 122 days.

Essential Functions:

Monitors the admission of fair patrons, guests, staff, exhibitors and contractors for proper ticket or credential, before allowing them to enter.
Provides frontline bag inspection for guests and staff by identifying dangerous and/or nonpermitted items, and ensures these prohibited items are not brought through the gates, but are properly secured and/or discarded.
Operates ticket scanning equipment and provides guidance for other employees in its proper use.
Provides excellent customer service to Fair patrons by answering questions and providing information.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 16 years of age; employees assigned to bag inspection must be at least 18 years of age.
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills a must.
Excellent teamwork skills required.
Must be able to quickly learn the layout of the fairgrounds and general fair information.
Must be available to work 23 days of the annual OC Fair.
Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.
