    JOB SUMMARY:


    The Business Development Manager assists in achieving growth and attaining purchase and sales targets, including aiding in the design and implementation of strategic procurement/buying and sales planning that expands the company's customer base and ensures our strong presence and profitably.

    In addition to managing account level activity, leadership and management of a team of BDRs is required to ensure sales force and operational alignment, setting objectives, coaching and performance monitoring of the material flows and production activities.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESMay hire, train, and oversee direct reports.
    May oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of direct reports in the department.
    Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
    Supervises personnel as needed or as directed.
    Assists in training personnel as needed or as directed.
    Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive, providing recommendations for development, promotion, and salary adjustment as appropriate.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Identifying Opportunities:
    The manager is responsible for researching and identifying potential business opportunities, such as new markets, partnerships, or customer segments

    Market Research:
    Conducting thorough market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs. This information helps in developing effective strategies.


    Relationship Building:
    Cultivating and maintaining relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders. This involves networking, attending events, and fostering long-term business relationships.


    Sales and Negotiations:
    Collaborating with the sales team to develop sales strategies and close deals. The manager may also be involved in negotiating contracts and agreements.


    Strategic Planning:
    Developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve business growth objectives. This may include identifying target markets, setting revenue goals, and outlining action plans.


    Proposal Development:
    Creating and presenting proposals to potential clients or partners. This involves understanding their requirements, developing tailored solutions, and demonstrating the value proposition.


    Team Collaboration:
    Collaborating with cross-functional teams within the organization, such as marketing, product development, and finance, to ensure alignment and effective execution of business development initiatives

    Monitoring and Evaluation:
    Monitoring the progress of business development initiatives, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and evaluating the success of strategies. This helps in identifying areas for improvement and making data-driven decisions.


    Continuous Learning:
    Staying updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies that may impact business opportunities. Continuous learning helps in adapting strategies and staying ahead of the competition.
    OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESAttend identified industry conferences and events including marketing booth management. Ability to find, understand, and organize data for review, discussion and/or presentation purposes.

    REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES Extensive knowledge of the industry, market dynamics, and customer needs to identify opportunities, tailor solutions, and stay ahead of market trends.

    Leadership skills to guide teams and influence stakeholders, including inspiring others, motivating teams, and effectively managing projects.
    Ability to train others.
    Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to presenting proposals, engage with clients, and collaborate with internal teams. Ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
    Strong sales and negotiation skills to identify opportunities, build relationships, and close deals. This includes effective communication, persuasive abilities, and the ability to navigate complex negotiations.
    Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management skills.
    Excellent sales, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
    Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders. Networking skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish trust and rapport are important for fostering long-term business relationships.
    Knowledgeable about company's products and services, and customer-related policies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess market data, evaluate business opportunities, and measure the success of strategies. This involves data analysis, problem-solving, and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
    Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at time, stressful environment.
    Ability to adapt to change, handle setbacks, and bounce back from challenges with resiliency.
    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    Ability to operate general office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, scanners, and copier.
    Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
    Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
    Ability to work independently.
    Extensive knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
    Ability to maintain confidential information.
    Project and team management/leadership skills and experience.
    Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.

    Ability to understand, evaluate and make judgment on proposals (RFPs).Excellent management skills with the ability to lead, facilitate, motivate, and organize.

    Ability to compile information and make decisions.
    QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAININGAt least two years of related experience.
    Required Three to five years of related experience.
    PreferredSupervisory experience PreferredHigh school diploma or equivalent.
    Required Bachelor's degree in related field Preferred Valid state motor vehicle operator's license.
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
    Must be able to regularly travel.
