- Reviews all documents relating to the job at hand.
- Selects appropriate, in-calibration measurement and testing equipment.
- Performs start-up inspection and documents results to allow production to commence.
- Performs periodic in-process dimensional inspection on random parts selected from production and documents results to provide assurance that in-process quality levels are not drifting from those confirmed during start-up.
- Performs in-process visual inspection on random parts selected from production and documents results to provide assurance that in-process quality levels are not drifting from those confirmed during start-up.
- Initiate nonconformance reports (NCR's) and contains all suspect product upon detection of nonconforming materials.
- Reports in-process quality performance to quality engineering.
- Maintains clean and tidy workspace.
- Capable of operating measurement equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.)
- Preferred prior experience in similar measurement/testing role.
- Ability to read product drawings, blue prints.
- Keen eye for detail.
- Able to read and understand basic quality control/assembly work instructions.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
- Sufficient computer literacy to be able to enter data to Excel spreadsheets, navigate L&T's IT systems (ERP system, SharePoint, etc.)
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
- Must establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment and be sensitive to issues of diversity and inclusion.
- While performing duties of this job, the employees is regularly required to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
- Prolonged viewing of computer monitors and screens.
- Repetitive motion (use of mouse and keyboard).
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or protective gear is required.
- Frequently exposed to risk outside diameter (OD) electrical shock.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, humid condition, fumes or airborne particles, flying metal burrs and chips and possible chemical irritants such as water-based coolants, hydraulic oils, degreasing soap and mineral spirit.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- Occasionally exposed to uncomfortable cold or heat.
