The Town School, a Nursery through 8th Grade co-educational school of 320 students on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, seeks substitute teachers on-site on an as-needed basis for the school year.

Major Responsibilities:


  • Work collaboratively with coteacher, gradelevel, divisional, and schoolwide colleagues
  • Support the academic program by covering classes in a teacher's absence
  • Differentiate instruction to attend to the needs of individual children
  • Help students transition from one activity to another
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and administration
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Heads of Nursery-Kindergarten, Lower, and Upper School and the Academic Dean

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience in a preschool and elementary setting
  • Experience incorporating technology in support of student learning
  • Passion for teaching young children

Job Type:

$175.00 per day
