Chemours is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our growing Clean Energy Technology team at our Newark, DE location.


Identifies and suggests improvements in methods, plans projects of limited duration and scope, troubleshoots when erroneous or unexpected results occur.

Responsible for producing research experimental results, or information/data management results, or assembling and configuring of small scale production equipment and control systems utilizing a variety of techniques, effectively documenting findings and communicating results.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Safe execution of lab work for polymer processing equipment including the data collection and interpretation
  • Operation and troubleshooting of equipment (pilot assets as well as laboratory analytical equipment)
  • Safe execution of lab work of wet chemistry experiments using corrosive materials
  • Ability to run standard polymer characterization techniques and interpret the measurements
  • Trouble shooting of minor computer software issues
  • Performing general maintenance on processing equipment
  • Monitoring and calibrating the operation of processing equipment
  • Ability to conduct experiments with mínimal supervision.

The following is _required_ for this role:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years with laboratory experience. Bachelor degree in scientific field of study preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining a safe and an orderly laboratory
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and ability to learn new software including software for analytical methods
  • Good written and oral communication skills for presentation of scientific data, communication with computer software programmers and vendors of extrusion equipment.
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Good record-keeping skills consistent with our policy for protection of IP.
  • Flexibility and demonstrated ability to prioritize work in a multi-tasking environment.
