Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 different professions who want to grow and improve with us.

We are currently seeking candidates for a 3-year apprenticeship as a locomotive shunter (railway employee in the operations department, specializing in train driving and transportation) (m/f/d) for DB Cargo AG at our location in Kaiserslautern.

The vocational school is located in Homburg (Saar).

During your apprenticeship, you will:

Drive a diesel locomotive to nearby customers, such as various companies, and collect the goods to be transported
Shunt freight cars onto the appropriate tracks
Assemble trains by coupling and uncoupling individual cars
Learn the rules for safe railway operations and become familiar with your vehicle
Check the functionality of freight trains and secure the cargo
Start and end your workday at your regional shunting yard

You have (or will soon have) successfully completed school and have a passion for technology
You enjoy working outdoors in the fresh air
You remain calm and keep a clear head even in challenging situations
You take responsibility and make decisions
You are reliable and able to handle stress
You are willing to work in shifts, on weekends, and on holidays
