    As a member of the Strategic Planning organization's Strategic Studies Group (SSG), the selected candidate will be responsible for leading studies and assessments charged with understanding our domestic and international customers' most stressing challenges and translating those to actionable studies or thought pieces that can drive our internal and external strategy.

    The selected candidate must be able to establish, grow, and foster customer relationships pertinent to Lockheed Martin Aeronautics' strategic priorities, shape and lead studies executed internally and externally to SSG, and proficiently translated complex bodies of work into key, strategic messages that can be communicated effectively to the desired individual/group.

    Responsibilities will include researching military systems performance and operations to include concept of operations (CONOPS) and Operational Plan (OPLAN) employment, analyzing constructive and virtual results to draw meaningful conclusions, preparing strategically relevant reports/briefings and presenting results.

    The selected candidate will be a member of a high-performing multi-site team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills.

    The ability to work and lead in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team environment is critical.

    This will include air combat force structure, force mix, and threat assessments focused around supporting the US services, partners and allies.

    This individual may also be called on to support studies for any program/platform needed within the Strategic Studies organization.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Experience in the defense industry, US military experience, and/or the DoD acquisition community
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field (e.g. engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science) or a Bachelor's degree or higher with extensive operational experience/military strategy development.
    • Experience with analytical thinking and problem solving skills, as well as experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment
    • Experience working in or with Operations Analysis
    • Experience with Microsoft Office suite

    Desired Skills:

    • Greater than 10 years of combined defense industry, US military, and DoD strategy/acquisition experience
    • Greater than 5 years working in or with the Advanced Development Programs
    • Background in DoD intelligence community
    • Previous experience in a strategy organization
    • Proficiency in strategic messaging
    • Strong teamwork and leadership acumen
    • An active Top Secret government security clearance with a current background investigation
    • Knowledge of military systems, weapon systems and the operation of threat air & ground systems
    • Knowledge of Operational analysis tools (ESAMS, JAAM, BRAWLER, SUPPRESSOR, EADSIMS, AFSIM, MOSAIC, THUNDER, CFAM, ARCTIC)
    • Ability to formulate structured approaches for analyzing complex problems involving multiple domains and articulate problems/possible solutions.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Security Clearance Statement:
    This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    Remote Telework:

    The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

    The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

    Work Schedules:
    Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.

    These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

    Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

    Pay Rate:


    The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $140,400 - $269,100 .

    Non-represented full-time employees:

    accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.

    Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.

    PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.

    Pay Rate:


    The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $161,500 - $304,300.
