    Investment Analyst – Asset Management

    NYC Investment Management Firm

    J Harlan Group is currently searching for an experienced and motivated Investment Analyst – Asset Management in their New York City office of a well-known Private Credit Fund Manager based in NYC. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and monitor post-investment relationships with multiple portfolio companies from deal close to exit.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support the Asset Management team with analysis, monitoring, and reporting.
    • Engage with portfolio company executives to understand operational milestones and assist in goal achievement.
    • Create financial tracking models and extract key data points from incomplete information.
    • Review and monitor loan covenants to ensure compliance and manage legal processes if needed.
    • Identify potential early warning signs of risk exposure.
    • Prepare portfolio updates and KPI performance for the Investment Committee.
    • Collaborate on runoff alternatives, supervise liquidations and restructurings.
    • Communicate findings and analyses effectively with team and senior management.
    • Develop sector intelligence.

    Qualifications:

    • Must have 1+ years of experience in credit underwriting, direct lending, investment banking, or related fields.
    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with management.
    • Advanced Excel Skills for building operational and financial models.
    • Strong analytical capabilities to evaluate relevant data points.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage complex situations.
    • Effective writing skills for creating memorandums and investment summaries.
    • Knowledge of capital structures and corporate debt.
    • Familiarity with financial contract negotiation.

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or Sciences preferred.
    • MBA, CFA, or other relevant graduate degree a plus.
