Customized Employment Specialist
Reports to:
The Program Director
Travel Required:
The SWTCIE office is located in Medford, N.Y.
but job responsibilities may require for the individual to travel through-out the long Island Community to perform certain job duties.
Reliable car a must.
Salary:
$50,000-$52,000
Position:
Full time; 35 hours per week; (does not include lunch). Monday through Friday
Applicants will be trained.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services field (bachelor's degree preferred).
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities in an employment or vocational rehabilitation setting.
- Strong understanding of disability rights, employment laws, and reasonable accommodations in the workplace.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with program participants, local employers, and community partners.
- Demonstrated ability to identify strengths, develop and implement individualized plans and strategies to support employment goals.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the strengths, skills, and interests of program participants.
- Develop customized employment plans based on the individual's strengths, preferences, and potential job opportunities.
- Provide individualized job coaching and support to clients during the job search and placement process.
- Collaborate with employers in the community to identify job opportunities and negotiate customized job placements.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to participants to ensure successful integration into the workplace.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of client progress and employment outcomes.
- Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to employment for individuals with disabilities.
- Collaborate with other members of the employment support team to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery.
Responsibilities:

$50, $52,000.00 per year
