JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Safety and Security is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all related functions of Plymouth Place programs by helping to develop, establish and enforce safety and security policies, access control procedures, support risk management efforts, fire, safety, emergency management and asset protection.

  • Develop and provide security education and awareness and participate in community inspections and audits and new employee orientation.
  • Support Emergency Management Plans, programs, and projects to promote preparedness and business continuity
  • With the support of the Healthcare Center Administrator, develop and lead Safety Committee for the entire community.
  • Review, revise, maintain, and implement the organization's fire prevention, safety, and security policies and procedures for all levels of living
  • Partner with community resources, such as LaGrange Park Police and Fire Departments, to ensure that building safety plans meet federal, state, and county requirements and incorporate best practices.
  • Prioritize customer service and satisfaction, fostering a positive and secure environment for residents, visitors, and team members.
  • Coordinates fire, elopement, and severe weather drills in accordance with Illinois Department of Public Health for the Healthcare Center, Assisted Living and Memory Care. Provides remedial training to all staff as needed, and/or requested by department leaders.
  • Oversees the organization's safety and security operations department; to include patrolling of the grounds, garages on the property.
  • Responsible for WorxHub requests relevant to safety and security.
  • Responsible to communicate issues and concerns to Systems Administrator related to systems and software (updates and overall maintenance) relevant to safety and security
  • Conducts performance evaluations for security staff that are timely and constructive.
  • Comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all Plymouth Place policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement, Business Management, or related field recommended
  • At least five years of safety/security experience required.
  • Advanced training or certification in safety and security required
