Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Company's financial statements.
  • Review financial statements for operating trends and results, researching any significant variances.
  • Prepare financial schedules and analyses as requested.
  • Assist in billing on government/commercial contracts whilst providing guidance on entering and analyzing in Costpoint.
  • Take an active role in overseeing various accounting processes including but not limited to accounts payable, billing, and inventory.
  • Maintain an effective cash management system.
  • Take ownership of collections to be able to accurately forecast the timing of incoming payments.
  • Participate in the annual external audit.
  • Conduct physical inventory audits.
  • Ensure compliance with Company's policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as requested by management.

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be able to both work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong multitasking, time management and organizational skills.
  • Must have good analytical skills and a sound understanding of GAAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Deltek Costpoint is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • CPA or currently working to obtain CPA license.
  • 24 years of relevant experience. Public accounting experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, multifunction printers and smartphones.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to work in a variety of physical conditions.
  • Ability to lift 10 lbs at times.
