The Compensation

$100,000 Annual Base Salary Range Commensurate with Experience

The Role

Lead the design and development of mechanical components and systems for aerospace applications.
Utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings.
Conduct structural analysis and ensure designs meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and systems engineers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into larger aerospace platforms.
Participate in design reviews and provide input on overall system architecture.
Select appropriate materials for aerospace applications, considering factors such as weight, strength, and durability.
Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective production of designed components.
Develop and execute test plans to validate the performance and reliability of mechanical systems.
Analyze test data and make necessary design improvements based on results.
Ensure designs comply with relevant aerospace regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements.
Stay informed about the latest advancements in aerospace engineering and incorporate innovative technologies into designs.

The Background Profile

U.S. Citizenship required
Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering required; Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering a plus
1-3 years experience in the Mechanical Engineering field
Mechanical engineering experience with general aviation/aerospace applications strongly desired
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software (e.g. SolidWorks Simulation, FEATool) preferred
In-depth knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and structural analysis
A solid track record of adhering to aerospace industry standards and regulations
Ability to work onsite in the Greenville, SC office
