    Description

    Summary

    This position is located in RAS Engineering (TENR) organization of Systems Engineering (TEN), Transmission Engineering & Technical Services (TE), Transmission Services (T), and Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).

    A successful candidate in the Electrical Engineer position will serve as a technical authority on the design and application of RAS (Remedial Action Scheme Systems): logic, hardware, software, and overall architecture.

    Duties

    As an Electrical Engineer, you will:
  • Serve as an expert technical authority for Remedial Action Scheme engineering and design staff, and the field on issues involving development, engineering, design, or implementation of Remedial Action Schemes and associated control, protection, and data acquisition systems.
  • Lead and guide engineers and designers in their efforts for Remedial Action Schemes, other special purpose control systems, and associated electrical facilities.
  • Lead the research, analysis, development, testing, and evaluation of new concepts, methods, equipment, and systems.
  • Recommend and implement modifications to system and equipment specifications, new designs, and/or replacement or upgrade of equipment and projects when needed to improve reliability and performance.
  • Represent as one of BPA's drafting team, and submit comments to develop, change, influence and shape important national policies for delivering reliable electric power in order to validate project adheres to NERC or WECC standards and compliances.
  • Provide mentoring in the development and maintenance of software, systems, work processes, and related systems that are necessary to perform the mission of the organization.
  • Provide workshops, presentations, and/or briefings on technical topics to a wide audience including BPA executives, management, and other technical experts.
