The Minnesota Department of Health's (MDH) Environmental Health Division is looking for an Assistant Director to join the team. The Assistant Director of the Environmental Health Division is responsible for division-wide policy development and analysis, establishment of rules and regulations relating to the protection of public health from environmental factors, oversight for division planning, and oversight of the division budget development. The Environmental Health Division has over 300 employees including toxicologists, research scientists, hydrologists, engineers, planners, sanitarians, nurses, and radiation specialists.
_There will be an option for some teleworking, however, it will be based on the business needs of the unit and is at supervisory discretion.
Minimum Qualifications
The following minimum qualifications must be clearly demonstrated on the applicant's resume/application to be considered for the position:
· Four (4) years of experience directing one or more major environmental health program areas and supervising professional level staff, which includes either oversight of planning or policy development.
_A related bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree may substitute for one (1) year, eighteen (18) months, or two (2) years of experience, respectively.
