Job Summary


An Adolescent Referral and Intake Coordinator (ARIC) is an individual who assists in addressing all the ancillary concerns and needs of the adolescent by providing ongoing support, needs identification, intra-agency, external coordination in conjunction with the established Child/ Adolescent treatment team.

This employee is responsible for accepting and coordinating all adolescent referrals from schools, agencies, and other outside referral sources.

The ARIC will also be responsible for scheduling and conducting intakes and oversee School Based Service concerns with contracted school districts.


Each area below is defined by specific function as it relates to policy, process, and the governing rules set forth by the Arizona Health Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA), Office of Behavioral Health Licensure (OBHL), and the Code of Federal Regulations.

Each employee will be held accountable and responsible for fulfilling each of these duties as well as having the capability to carry them out.

The adolescent outreach navigator is a grant funded position through MHBG funding.

Skills/Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or GED required.
Associate degree or higher in a field related to behavioral health preferred.

  • Recovery from Alcohol or Drugs and/or GMH for equal to or greater than 1 consecutive year preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in a behavioral health position providing outreach and engagement activities.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
