Job Summary:
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the Physician and/or Designee.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information in patient's medical record.
    Prepares treatment rooms and patients for examination.
    Assists clinician with patient care.
    Inventories, orders, and replenishes medical supplies.
    Gives treatments and performs routine laboratory tests as required.
    Schedules appointments, performs clinical tasks, and completes appropriate forms.
    May administer medications and perform instrument sterilization.
    Performs computer data entry functions.
    Performs department-specific clinical/technical skills.
    Performs other necessary duties.

Customer Service:
Practices customer service standards as defined by the Medical Center and specified department.
  • Anticipates customer needs and takes proactive steps to ensure resolution of issues.
    Promptly responds to alarms and patient requests.
    Facilitates customer resource utilization.
    Maintains a clean, orderly, and functional work environment.

Team Commitment:
Is an effective team member who is flexible, cooperative, and willing to assist others.
  • Manages conflict constructively and seeks assistance when needed.
    Takes accountability for own actions.
    Acts as a mentor to new team members.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum six (6) months of experience or successful completion of Kaiser Permanente externship.
    High School Diploma/GED.
    Completion of Medical Assistants course as per California Medical Board requirements.
    Basic Life Support certification.

Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to comprehend medical information.
    Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
    Willingness to work in a collaborative environment.
    Demonstrated computer proficiency.
    Medical Terminology Certificate or equivalent experience.
