    Exciting Job Opportunity: Mechanical Engineering Analysts

    Join our team in the Weapon Analysis and Methods (WAM) section within the Computational Engineering Division (CED) to work on cutting-edge projects related to the analysis and certification of the nation's nuclear weapon systems. As a Mechanical Engineering Analyst, you'll use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and sophisticated computational models to contribute to the design, testing, and enhancement of critical hardware, ultimately supporting the development of advanced engineering solutions.

    • Contribute to developing finite element models of mechanical systems
    • Conduct engineering analysis to support design, testing, and certification of nuclear weapon systems
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address technical challenges
    • Document and present simulation results and technical approaches
    • Enhance engineering analysis capabilities to meet project objectives

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field
    • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and CAD software
    • Knowledge of mechanics, materials science, and engineering principles
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Additional Qualifications at SES.2 Level:

    • Master's degree in Engineering or relevant field
    • Proficient in static, thermal, and dynamic analysis
    • Extensive experience with analytical models and simulations
    • Ability to collaborate across multiple organizations

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Programming experience in Python, Java, or similar languages
    • Knowledge of commercial FEA codes such as Abaqus or Ansys
    • Experience with meshing software and material model selection
